Shubhangi Hadavale

Winner 2009

As a child I was fascinated with engineering studies. I was determined to stick to this line of career and accordingly scored in my qualifying exams. But then I hit a roadblock - finances! My father's income was not enough and my mother is a housewife. I was easily admitted into the topmost college in my state on basis of my scores, but the tuition and hostel fees of 4 years graduation course also meant education loan and added burden on my parents. That is where the scholarship opportunity given by L'Oréal under FYWIS scheme in the year 2008 changed the tide for me.

I got placed on-campus with MNC tech giant - Oracle India - with a deserving package. Had it been for a loan, I don't think I would have been able to work and perform in peace. In 2 years of this job, I bought my own home in Pune, shifted my parents to a better city and ensured my brother is free to follow his dreams and goals in my own college. All happened, because one financial support encouraged me to go and get it all. I owe it to L'Oréal India

Winner 2008

I lost my parents at a young age which led to a lot of financial instabilities. I was a diligent student, had the academic score along with the extracurricular profile required for enrolling into a good college, but the major hurdle in my career path was the lack of financial support. That's when I was chosen as a L'Oréal India FYWIS scholarship recipient and it transformed my life completely.

Thanks to the scholarship assistance, I graduated with distinction as a Software Engineer in Computer Science. Soon after my graduation I worked with Tata Consultancy Services, a reputed software company for three years.

Currently, I am working as an International Marketing Analyst with ValuLink, a reputed financial firm based in United States.

I am truly appreciative for the assistance provided by L'Oréal India
